The same sizing, matching and pricing engine drives both the customer quote tool and our internal staff pricing console, so the number you see is exactly what we'd quote in person. We start from a design load of 120 W/m² for homes, 160 W/m² for commercial space, or 200 W/m² for industrial space, then adjust it for your building's insulation (based on its age), how much sun the room gets, how many people typically use it, and your ceiling height. Single-split gives every room its own outdoor condenser — more flexibility on tier per room, and one room's issue never affects another. Multi-split shares one outdoor unit across several rooms — tidier outside, and typically better value for 3 or more rooms. Our quote tool can size and price both from the same answers so you can compare.
Domestic properties having a full installation (not supply-only) qualify for 0% VAT under the UK's Energy Saving Materials scheme. Commercial and industrial installations, and all supply-only orders, are charged the standard 20% rate.
Supply-only means we ship the equipment to you, and your own F-Gas certified installer fits it. UK law requires that only a certified engineer handles the refrigerant in an air conditioning system, so we ask for your installer's details — including their F-Gas certification number — before dispatch.

Not every room hits peak cooling demand at the exact same moment, so a shared outdoor unit serving several rooms can be sized at 80% of the combined total duty without leaving any room underpowered. This only applies to multi-split systems — single-split rooms each have their own dedicated outdoor unit and are always sized individually.
